"...The partnership between the Nursery and parents is exemplary..." (OFSTED 2004)
We recognise that you as parents/main carers are the prime educators of your child and we will provide many opportunities for establishing and maintaining a partnership with the Nursery by:
giving you sufficient time and opportunity for questions.
sharing daily communications about your child's activities and progress.
providing an 'open door' policy to enable both prospective and existing parents/main carers to visit the Nursery when it is convenient for them.
inviting you to various social events throughout the year.
offering parent consultations throughout the year.
undertaking the 2½ year development check at the nursery with a follow up consultation.
ensuring that the Nursery's comprehensive policy document is always available for reference.
Settling in:
To help your child feel less apprehensive about being left at Nursery, we will arrange 'settling in' sessions with you and a few weeks before your child's first full session day. These start at an hour and increase according to your child. This experience prepares you for the first "official" occasion that you leave your child at the Nursery ensuring a less anxious time for you both! Whenever you drop off or settle in your child, a member of staff will greet you both and offer appropriate reassurance. You are always invited to call us during the day for an update on your child.
